We are recruiting a Policy Officer to play a key role in developing JCWI’s policy and campaigning priorities: carrying out high quality research and analysis to support and inform JCWI’s advocacy, campaigning work, and strategic litigation, influencing decision makers and building public and political support for our work.
The Policy Officer will have the following core responsibilities at JCWI:
Conduct robust research and analysis relating to JCWI’s key areas of interest.
Contribute to the development of strategies to advance JCWI’s objectives.
Work with colleagues to implement and evaluate multi-disciplinary strategies, including policy input to strategic litigation.
Produce credible and persuasive content on relevant policy developments and contribute to the development of JCWI's policy and campaigning strategy.
Produce responses to consultation exercises from the Government and others.
Draft responses and amendments to Parliamentary Bills and other proposals with human rights implications.
Support strategic partnerships with NGOs, parliamentarians of all political parties, senior civil servants and others.
Maintain an awareness and knowledge of developments in human rights law and policy in the UK.
