Facing a hostile environment: the impact of the Immigration Act 2014 and the Immigration Bill 2015/2016  - Wed  2 Mar 16 – LONDON- 4pm-7:15pm; Thurs 10 Mar 16 – MANCHESTER -2:45pm-6pm - CPD: 3hrs - Course Fee £110+vat (JCWI Members) ; £200+vat (Non-members) This course will offer an overview and update of the changes brought by the Immigration Act 2014 and planned by the Immigration Bill 2015-2016, and an opportunity for discussion amongst practitioners and third sector workers offering advice to migrants.

WORKSHOP: a practical introduction to immigration applications  - Tues 15 Mar 2016- LONDON- 4-6pm- CPD: 2hrs -Course fee: £75+vat (JCWI Members); £155+vat (Non Members) This is an essential introductory workshop intending especially for immigration advisors who find they sometime struggle with immigration applications. The workshop will focus on the practical skills needed by an immigration advisor to: advise, and take initial instructions and draft a persuasive accompanying letter for a successful application at the Home Office or British Embassy on behalf of their clients. 

A practical workshop on Administrative Review - Thurs 17 Mar 16 - LONDON – 4pm -6.30pm -CPD: 2.5hrs - Course fee: £110+vat (JCWI Members); £200+vat (Non Members)  We will look at the circumstances in which the Administrative Review procedure will be an appropriate remedy for challenging Home Office decisions and offer tactical considerations to provide delegates with an enhanced confidence to prepare and lodge AR applications for their clients. Suitable for all immigration lawyers and advisers (including OISC  levels 1, 2, 3) who have a good working knowledge of preparing applications to the Home Office for leave under the immigration rules.

Civil Penalty Notice for Illegal working – Do you know how to advise your clients? – Fri 18 Mar 16 -1:45pm-5pm –CPD 3hrs- Course fee: £150+vat (JCWI Members); £250+vat (Non Members) This is a practical course aimed at lawyers/advisors who want to gain an in depth knowledge on how to make representations or prepare for court if their clients have received a Civil Penalty Notice.  The course will offer practical best practice tips and insights on how to work with the UKVI on any Civil Penalties received for illegal working and how to ensure compliance plus statutory defences. There will be opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and a detailed analysis of case examples.

WORKSHOP: Deportation and Human Rights claims- Mon 21 Mar 16 - LONDON – 5pm-7pm – CPD: 2hrs - Course fee: £75+vat (JCWI Members); £155+vat (Non Members) This is a practical workshop for immigration advisors /solicitors. The workshop offers an in depth guide to a now complicated area of immigration law, covering deportation procedure,  the Immigration Rules para 398-399 and para 276ADE (1) and up-to-date caselaw. There will be guidance on drafting representation on Human Rights grounds and an opportunity for discussion.
