Our Reports and Briefings

Work It Out: Advancing Migrant Workers' Rights, is a report published in July 2024 which examines how restrictions on migrant workers’ rights fuel exploitation and undermine migrants’ safety and dignity at work.

Some use the term “Hostile Environment” to describe all policies which make life difficult for migrants living in the UK - treating them as less deserving of dignity and humanity than British citizens.

The ‘Windrush’ generation are those who arrived in the UK from Caribbean countries between 1948 and 1973. Many took up jobs in the nascent NHS and other sectors affected by Britain’s post-war labour shortage.

The so-called ‘Illegal Migration Bill’ is an extraordinarily dangerous piece of legislation which flies in the face of international human rights law and will have a devastating impact on people seeking safety in the UK.
